On 6 December 2025, IILAT in collaboration with The Honourable Society of Inner Temple will be holding a one day advocacy training. For more information see: www.iilat.org/advancedadvocacy
As part of the training exercises, witness participants will play a crucial role by acting as Prosecution or Defence witnesses. They will be subjected to advocates' direct and cross examinations based on the case material at hand. The material and assigned roles of the relevant witness will be distributed prior to the training. The witness participants are expected to study the material, in particular their assigned role.
Participating as a witness is a good opportunity to be exposed in real courtroom situations, learn from other advocates and trainers as well as interact with fellow legal professionals from different institutions in The Hague. Witnesses are also expected to be present during the plenary and final speeches sessions, before they will be required to join the exercises in the break rooms.
The programme of the training will run the whole day on Saturday, 6 December 2025. Upon completion, witness participants will receive the IILAT certificate of attendance. Participating is free of charge.
However, if you fit the criteria of having 5+ years of experience, and would like to participate, please fill in the application at: www.iilat.org/advancedadvocacy
